Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Jahi Medz Says Insulting Miss. Lou Is Like Insulting Bob Marley

Controversail dancehall artiste Ishawna has continued to come under fire for a comment she made about cultural ambassador Miss. Louise Bennett-Coverley.

“Mi nuh dress inna tablecloth like Miss Lou #RipMissLou” Ishawna captioned on her Instagram.

Upcoming reggae/dancehall artiste Jahi Medz who recently released a single titled Ishawna Break The Ice said in an Instagram post that disrespecting Miss. Lou is like disrespecting Bob Marley.

“I am in total disgust at the very rude comments made by Ishawna, dishonoring our cultural icon #miss Lou! Who is one of our most profound cultural ambassadors, a great stalwart who has done so much for our culture in bringing the Jamaican dialect to the world !!” The Nuh Play Wid Di Rum deejay Jahi Medz wrote

“#Referring to clothes worn by her as TABLE CLOTH !! #Yo madd !! How u fi dat !! It is such a disgrace on the entire dancehall fraternity, and on our culture !! #An artist such as Ishawna, whom so many young girls look up to, #What are you saying to our youths ?? #That is ok to DISRESPECT our heritage ?? #mi ben iyah !! Disrespecting Miss Lou, it’s just like disrespecting Bob Marley star !! Our music has certainly lost it ‘ S moral values, and it’s culture !! #And as a result of that, everyone says and sings every and anything these days !!! To whom much is given .. much is required !! And so our artists need to start being more responsible !!” Jahi Medz adds.

Though Ishawna has been getting a lot of backlash from fans including well known talk show host Dr Kingsley ‘Ragashanti’ Stewart and Mutabaruka she has garnered support from fellow dancehall artiste Tanya Stephens who defended her comment.

And what if someone insult Bob Marley? Greatness does not immune anyone from insults.
The comparison Ishawna made was a poor choice but even more insane is the obsession with such an insignificant misstep.
I guess it’s revenge for her equal rights song.
