But on June 22, 2016 in the night, ‘Delus’ decided that he didn’t want to live any longer and took his life, leaving his two daughters and the rest of his family to morn. It was a sad family member, Joyce Reid that delivered the first tribute to the entertainer. This was followed by a soulful rendition of the popular Christian song ‘Lamb of God’ , this was sung very nicely by Sherita.
After that Peta-Gaye Spence said “Your daddy is sleeping” as she did her spoken word tribute to Delus. She thought it would be good for her to make an attempt to comfort and support his daughters. She even encouraged them to ‘keep talking to him’.
But Novelette Williams Brown could not hold back the tears as she shared the eulogy, she described Delus as creative, but quiet. She also said, ” he was a shining example of the fact that talent and humility could walk hand -in-hand. However she felt as though there were some people who wish they had paid more attention to the Deejay’s musical career, she even believes that, even though he is gone too soon, it is better late than never. As his daughter might be able to benefit from his music.
Twins of Twins, Craigy T, Stacious, Voicemail and others were there to support the family and pay their last respects. So sad to see a talented Artiste go in this way.
After the thanks giving service, Delus was laid to rest at Meadow Rest Memorial Gardens in St Catherine.
