Double gold medalist Elaine Thompson and MVP team Finally returns home today!

Olympic sprint double gold medalist Elaine Thompson leads a group of six MVP track and field athletes who will return to the island tomorrow, fresh from representing Jamaica at last month’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

Thompson who in her first Olympic Games won gold in the 100 and the 200 meters, along with a silver medal as a member of the 4×100 meters relay team, will arrive tomorrow afternoon at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

Thompson who will be joined at a welcome ceremony by the Minister of Sports the Hon. Olivia Grange at the airport, comes in with team-mates Christania Williams, Shericka Jackson, Stephanie -Ann McPherson, Megan Simmons and Julian Forte.

MVP head coach Stephen Francis also be among the delegation arriving tomorrow.
