Elaine Thompson Suffered Her First Loss Of The Season At The Eugene Diamond League meet

Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson suffered her first defeat since the start of the season at the Eugene Diamond League meet on Saturday (May 27).

The double-Olympic sprint champion had to settle for third place in the women’s 200m.

The event which saw her competed against a strong field, which included Allyson Felix, Dafne Schippers, Tori Bowie and Shaunae Miller.

American Tori Bowie won the event in a time of 21.77, ahead of the Olympic 400m gold medallist Shaunae Miller-Uibo, who finished second with a time of 21.91.

Thompson finished third in 21.98. Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands was fourth in 22.30.
