Over the past 10 years I-Octane, born Byiome Muir, has ascended to the top of the dancehall game through a series of diverse, independently released hit singles including “Mama You Alone”, “Gyal A Gimme Bun” and “Prison Life”; his understanding of the challenges facing artists who are working independently was a motivating factor in the development of The Foundation.

“Our plan is to work with unsigned, independent artists across the globe by creating an outlet for them to benefit from the I-Octane brand,” says Octane. “We rate what Damian “Junior Gong” Marley does with the (various artists) Set Up Shop compilation series for the Marley family’s Ghetto Youths label so we’re here to raise the profile of Conquer the Globe as we help other artists elevate their careers.”
The Foundation’s co-executive producers are Dev Kutta founder of the renowned Brooklyn based sound Livity Movements and Paul C. Parris, Brand Manager for the artist.
The first single to be released from The Foundation is “Fallin” an irresistible EDM remix of Octane’s hit “Falling”, produced by the upstart DRWTHVN. Hailing from Dev Kutta’s home country Guyana, DRWTHVN helms the set’s production team that includes Jus D., Noise Cans, KickRaux and Quefa Don.
Featured artists on The Foundation include young Jamaican firebrand Bryka; versatile writer/producer/artist Jus D. from Barbados; Brooklyn based St. Lucian deejay Quarter Bill; Jamaica born Delaware based hip-hop/dancehall artist Maine Gwap and T. Smallz from The Gambia whom I-Octane met when he performed in the west African nation in March 2014.
With its international cast of young, vibrant talent, The Foundation offers an eclectic musical mix that is poised to do exactly what I-Octane’s label name suggests-conquer the globe.
