Yesterday Jamaica National, formerly a building society was unveiled as the country’s first commercial bank to be fully owned by its members.

JN Bank has become the seventh commercial bank locally with 34 locations comprising 25 branches and nine JN Money Shops.

“Our business model is not just simply the single focus of maximising profit, but to maximise value for the people of Jamaica. Our covenant is to ensure that we deliver the greatest level of customer service, we have also made a promise that our fees will be lower than the market and we promised respect,” General Manager Earl Jarrett told the Jamaica Observer yesterday.

To mark its opening, the bank has offered wavers of select in-branch fees and has removed processing fees on its JN auto and unsecured loans, among others.
