Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz led by a lone strike from former Rivoli striker Cory Burke edged Suriname 1 nil in their Caribbean Cup 3rd round group one game inside the National Stadium last night.
The defending champions ended as winners of the group with maximum six points from their two games following their 4-2 win over Guyana last month.
Suriname finished second on three points after they had also secured a win over Guyana
By virtue of the win last night the reggae boys automatically qualified for the Caribbean Cup semi- finals as well as the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Jamaica’s interim coach Theodore Whitmore assessed the performance of his team.
Meanwhile president of the JFF captain Horace Burrell spoke to the satisfaction felt after the victory.
