Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls won Series Against England

Jamaica’s national senior netballers came away with a 2-1 win over England in the Vitality International Series on Sunday night.

The last test on Sunday saw the Sunshine Girls trailing 15-14 at the first quarter but rebounded to take the lead 29-23 at half time.

By the end of the fourth quarter, the score was tied at 46 -46 due in part to England’s resilient goalkeeper Eboni Beckford-Chambers who kept Jamaica at bay and allowed her side to claw their way back into the game.

England re-established the away side’s lead with two goals before Jamaica effectively sealed off their own net to keep England at bay until the final whistle.

Jamaica’s Shanice Beckford was named Player of the Match while her team-mate Jhaniele Fowler-Reid was their Player of the Series.
