After Bogdanovich took over Sumfest in 2016 he excluded international night from the usually three night show. Such a move paved the way for Sumfest being the recipient of the Concert of the Year Award at the 35th anniversary of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This year will be the 25th staging of the festival which is slated for Montego Bay, and will be held between July 16 and 22.
“Reggae is more than music. It’s a movement, an experience. That experience extends beyond the festival to countless Montegonian entrepreneurs, hotels, restaurants and other businesses.”
The event kicks off on Sunday, July 16 with a Beach Party and moves into the Sumfest Sunset Yacht Party the following Monday. The staple All-White Party at Pier One happens on Tuesday, July 18, followed by Sumfest Blitz on Wednesday, July 19. On Thursday, July 20 Pier One will play host to the exciting Sumfest Heavy Weight Clash, while Jamaican music and culture will be on display on the Catherine Hall stage on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22.
“In partnership with our sponsors, we will be offering several premiums to our local and international patrons,” Bogdanovich added.
Early bird tickets and travel packages go on sale exclusively on the official website in February.
