Kanye West Reportedly Splits From Jay Z’s Tidal Over Unpaid Money

Kanye West, a key player in Jay Z’s Tidal stable, has left the company over a money dispute and Tidal has threatened to sue him.

An ‘unhappy’ Kanye West has now severed ties with Tidal – after he helped launch the company in 2015 alongside the likes of Rihanna and Calvin Harris – as reported by TMZ.

West is said to be ‘owed more more than $3 million’ from the music streaming site – with his lawyers sending a letter to the company telling them they were ‘in breach and the contact was terminated.’ The unpaid sum according to reports is a promised bonus for bringing in 1.5 million new subscribers with his album Saint Pablo.

A back and forth took place but with no resolution, West’s lawyers declared the contract over

The pair have been friends for years but in October 2016 West publicly ranted about JAY-Z on stage, accusing his friend of not being in touch when wife Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

However the Jay Z hit back at kanye on his most recent album 4:44, rapping about how West had lost his principles and was ‘insane’ on the opening track Kill Jay Z.

‘You dropped outta school, you lost your principles / But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f**k was he thinkin’? / “F**k wrong with everybody?” is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.’

It is thought West left the company before he heard JAY-Z’s lyrics.
