Learn about Chronixx’s Soul Circle Africa Tour 2016

Jamaican singer, Chronixx has confirmed a major tour of Africa kicking off in June. “Prepare your minds and hearts for this revolution.”
When he first performed in Nairobi, few has heard about him. He did not have an entourage in tow, nor did he perform before a sold out stadium. All he had was his infectious music that had been trickled down all thanks to ZJ Heno, who many hold responsible for breaking out Chronixx in Kenya.

That was in 2013—he and his team were Jamaica’s only representation in Nairobi, where he performed as a Peace Ambassador ahead of Kenya’s general elections.

Just like his 2014 project, he is indeed ‘Dread and Terrible’ on stage and he is bringing that neo roots movement to Africa.
Jamar Rolando McNaughton, using the moniker Chronixx, has ignited a torch in people’s hearts the world over and is confidently lighting the path for an entire generation of youths to rediscover roots and culture. Born October 10, 1992, Chronixx was musically nurtured from an early age by his father, the artist Chronicle, and grew up surrounded by the likes of Burro Banton, Norris Man and Gregory Isaacs.
Fast forward to today, rocking up a catalogue of EPs, singles and having assembled his own musical crew: Zincfence Redemption, Chronixx remains one of Jamaica’s most influential artist of this decade.

Along with artists such as Protoje, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid, Kelissa, Jah Over Evil and Dre Island, they are leading the neo roots movement—what is also known as the Roots Rock Reggae revival.
The star is ruling the charts with his latest project, ‘Roots & Chalice’, which consists on a new mixtape in collaboration with Brooklyn’s sound system Federation Sound. One track off that project stands out from many Africans, ‘Thanks & Praise’ featuring the Afrocentric instrumentals of Afrobeats don, Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’.

His tour to Africa is quite timely especially with the revival of roots reggae rocking the continent. His killer pop single, ‘Here Comes Trouble’ will get Africa’s Jah Army waving their hands from side to side.
