The single ’Natty Rides Again’ features Julian Marley and is the first single off her much anticipated Album, set for release later this year. With a long history fronting Australia’s premier live roots band, Blue King Brown, Nattali has now delved into her solo project, immersing herself deeper into Jamaican reggae culture.
In 2014 she based her self predominantly in Jamaica to write & record. Last year, she released her first collaborative EP project ‘New Era Frequency” with popular production heavyweights ‘Notis’. The project also featured Jamaican rising Reggae Rebel Kabaka Pyramid & Zuggu Dan (Of Protoje’s Indiggnation Band) and was toured worldwide to rave reviews.
“It’s been amazing to tour this project. We’ve taken it all the way back to Australia as well as through North America and Canada. Our collaborative project was really unique and received a hugely positive response both out on the road and in our home countries so we are always giving thanks.” Nattali mentioned
With the new single ‘Natty Rides Again’, Nattali and Julian’s positive vibrations come out full force in the single itself and corresponding video project.
“I really love working with Julian, he has a great soulful energy, a solid work ethic and is also super humble. We held a vibes at Tuff Gong International studios one night where we basically wrote and recorded the vocals right there and then. Everything flowed naturally, and the vibes were really chill at the same time” Nattali explained
Recording the video for the single was just as fluid, An intended photoshoot for Nattali & Julian for cover art, spontaneously turned into a video shoot at the Bob Marley Museum one afternoon, and history was created.
“ We ended up just vibing to the song and after taking some photos, we decided to start recording the video then and there, sometimes you just got to roll with the energy, within no time we had ended up shooting the video at a few different locations around the Bob Marley Museum that afternoon. Creation is best when it is natural like that. “ Nattali added
Nattali believes in the power of Reggae music globally, she is working hard at increasing the visibility of the reggae sound in her home country of Australia where the genre is currently not hugely popular; she will perform next there with her international band, of both Jamaican and Australian Musicians, in April and May before heading to Japan, the U.S and Europe for the summer. She recently toured in Australia with her new project supporting Third World & J Boog.
The ‘Natty Rides Again’ single is available for a limited time as a free download on Nattali’s website www.nattalirize.com prior to its upcoming digital worldwide release.
