Down Sound Records artiste Nature scored his first number-one single this week with ‘World Peace’ which rocketed to the pole position of the HYPE TV Top 20 charts….
“It feels great to achieve my first number-one single, especially with a song like World Peace which is a relevant topic with all the conflicts going on world-wide in Syria, Africa, Sierra Leone and the Middle East. World Peace might sound like a pipe dream, but it is something that we should all aspire towards,” Nature said in a release.
The single, produced on the Down Sound Records imprint, has also popped up on reggae charts in Kenya, Australia and France. The video for the single peaked at #3 on the CVM Hitlist charts.
The energetic performer, fresh off a great performance during International Night 1 at Reggae Sumfest 2012, delivered a great set at Sligoville in St Catherine during the annual ‘Emancifest’ celebration on August 1, Emancipation Day.
Backed by the Warrior Love band, Nature hit the stage singing Garnet Silk’s Mama Africa which got an immediate response from the crowd and set the tone for the rest of his performance. He then segued neatly into Wasting Time before closing strongly with World Peace, for which he earned a huge forward.
“I was pleased with my performance, because even the emcee, MP Natalie Headley, came up to me and commended me afterwards on how well I did. My career is definitely growing, and things look great. The World Peace song is picking up in other Caribbean territories as well,” Nature said.
He shared the stage with the likes of Capleton, George Nooks and Lenya Wilks.
Nature also participated in this year’s Jamaica50 celebrations by performing during the Grand Gala at the National Stadium.
