Popcaan wins best reggae artist… Beats Chronixx, Protégé and Style O G

Popcaan has beaten off competition from OMI, Chronixx, Protégé and Style O G to cop the coveted MOBO award for best reggae artist.

The dancehall deejay who currently has a string of popular songs and slangs, won the award following his 4th nomination. He took the spotlight from Omi despite the singer’s infectious hit Cheerleader which topped the British national chart and several other charts around the world.

The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin) which ‘recognizes artistes of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music’ took place on Wednesday night at the Leeds First Direct Arena, in west England.
