The song was recorded on Tj Record’s Tears of Joy rhythm which also features Vybz Kartel, Demarco, I- Octane, Jah Vinci, Shawn Storm and Vershon and was released in November of 2015.
“Being the newest artist on the rhythm, it took hard work, sleepless nights and a dedicated team to get the song recognized, something which eventually paid off because at the moment it is one of the hottest songs in dancehall” according to Raytid. Known for songs such as Unfair, Forward and his hit single Blahdaff, My Days was written because persons were saying that he made a switch from reality songs to ‘Gyal songs’.
On a recent interview with Janice Young on FAME 95fm, Raytid explained that Blahdaff, one of the ‘Girl’s Anthem’ for 2015, gave him the big ‘buss’ he was looking for.
However, he is a versatile artist and My Days has shown that he can still hit with reality songs. “New York, Birmingham, Kenya, Miami, Toronto, Castries, New Jersey, and even as far as Japan and Australia are just some of the places from which I receive videos and tweets of the song playing, and the people, they just love it! They didn’t believe that I sang it!” he said.
When asked why he thought the song made it so far he replied stating that My Days was written from his heart and his emotions can be heard while listening the song, maybe that’s why people like it so much. The video was shot in Kingston 13 and is now on YouTube, on his VEVO channel: RaytidVEVO.
Currently, Raytid is promoting Dutty Shake, produced by Fiyah Blaze Productions, Champion Bubbler which is featured on Zj Dymond’s Tilt Ova Rhythm, Tuff Head, on Apt. 19 Music’s Gyalla Park Rhythm and Nah Sell Out, on Jay Crazie’s Fire Nation Rhythm.
