So even though the festival always attract guest from reggae’s international fan base, the Jamaicans will not be overlooked. There will be road shows all over the island, leading up to the week of the festival, this was revealed by Robert Russell, a member of the Reggae Sumfest board of directors. So everyone on the island will get a taste of the sweet Reggae beat before the festival actually begins.
During the weeks prior to the Reggae Festival, sound systems will be on the streets, these sound systems will be branded for Reggae Sumfest, they will be visiting communities island-wide. ” Johnny Gourzong, the former executive director of Summerfest Productions, also said “Irie FM and Pepsi will be out there”, but he was not sure about Pepsi as yet. The promoters will be doing a lot more to build a great big party vibe this year. The new management plans to make the festival better than it has ever been. They will be giving Reggae fans a brand new experience, there is no doubt about that.
The road shows will go on until the week when Reggae Sumfest begins, with the longstanding Sunday beach party and the All-White Party, set for Tuesday of Reggae Sumfest week. The Reggae Sound System Explosion will be a part of Dancehall night entertainment, on Thursday night. Instead of performances on stage added to the 360 degrees virtual reality streaming that will be introduced. Patrons will certainly be entertained in a new and exciting way.
