The evening kicked off with Mr Vegas who got the crowd on their feet dancing to hits like ‘Heads High’, and a medley of gospel hits. The mood continued when Barrington Levy bounced on stage.
Next up was the UK’s No. 1 reggae artist, Maxi Priest, who did a memorable selection and a moving minute’s silence for all those affected in the recent Grenfell fire in London. His final track was a heart-wrenging tribute to all those affected by all the recent tragedies. Following Maxi, the atmosphere in the arena was brought back to fever-pitch when the man of the moment Shabba Ranks hit the stage.
It’s eight year since the self-styled ‘Emperor’ was last on stage in the UK so, fans were eager to celebrate and he did not disappoint. Summer Reggaefest was a resounding success and was a great way to get the summer reggae vibes going.
