According to recent reports dancehall artiste Tommy Lee will turn himself into the divisional headquarters in Montego Bay sometime this week to be questioned by police personnel.
The entertainer’s manager Heavy D Fraser disclosed during a recent interview lately that the artiste his to turn himself in to police sometime this week, but he is unaware way all of a sudden the police.
“I don’t know why all of a sudden the police want to question him. I think it is because he made a public statement that he plans to sue for loss of earnings why they are trying to victimise him. He has retained a lawyer to represent him,” said heavy D.
However according Senior superintendent of police (SSP) in charge of the St James Division, Steve McGregor the artiste is currently restricted from performing in the Area One Division, which comprises St James, Trelawny, Westmoreland and Hanover.
“That entertainer’s name is linked to the ongoing violence in Flanker and I personally warned him that he is not to perform in the division. It is unsafe to him and for the patrons. As a matter of fact, he is to come in to the station and be interviewed by the police in relation to the violence,” the senior officer said.
“There are two gangs in Flanker that are at each other: the Sparta and the Rebel Gang. It’s serious, because eight people have been murdered and numerous shootings have occurred relative to that issue. We told him that it is very dangerous to him to be anywhere in Area One.” He added.
