We recently spoke with popular young British actor Rio Thake, about his upcoming projects and inspirations in the acting world. Here is what he shared with us:
Please introduce yourself to the readers:
Hi my name is Rio Thake and I am 13 years old and live in London where I was born. I was raised by my mother who is a single parent and I’m one of seven children who are all models and actors.
How and when did you first get into performing?
I started at the Sylvia Young Theatre School at age five where I learned acting. dancing and singing. I then joined an agency and started getting lots of TV and modeling work.
Who were some of your biggest inspirations?
My biggest inspirations are Justin Bieber, Zac Efron, Paul Walker and Chris Brown.
What kind of training have you had, if any?
I attended drama classes on a Saturday and currently attend hip hop classes with Zoonation dance academy and take classes on Sunday with Boyband.
What has been your favorite role to play so far?
My favorite role was being in the film Still Life and being a Disney kid.
What has been one of your biggest achievements in your career so far?
My biggest achievement so far was being the ‘face’ of super store Primark and being in every shop window all over Europe
What projects do you have coming up?
I have a feature film coming up which will be out in 2016 called King Arthur – Knight of the round tables featuring Charlie Hunnam and directed by Guy Ritchie . I also have lots of modeling work coming up with regular fashion clients. I am also heading to LA in the summer for the episodic period to work with my agent on numerous projects in TV and commercial print.
Who would be your ideal co-star and why?
My ideal co-star would be Paul Walker if he was still alive today, as I loved all the fast and furious films and thought he was a great actor. I also get told I look like him a little bit.
What are your plans for the future?
My plan for the future is to star in many more feature films and to continue with my career as an International actor and model.
What is your advice to aspiring performers?
My advice to aspiring actors is to never give up on following your dreams, be positive, work hard and believe in your dreams.
