Flexible Youngster McKayla McKenzie Receives Gymnastics Scholarship

The super flexible eight-year-old from Denham Town in Kingston who was featured in The Star last Friday, has received a full scholarship to train at the Jamaica School of Gymnastics, from which she can matriculate to represent the island in competitions.

Young McKayla McKenzie, captured the attention of thousands of people with her natural acrobatic talent including president of the Jamaica Amateur Gymnastics Association, Nicole Grant-Brown, who reached out to the family after seeing the article.

According to an article on The Star’s website after communication with her mother, Mckenzine was offered a full scholarship for a year, where she can start training on Saturdays.

The scholarship will continue if young McKayla does well in the classes. She is expected to start this coming saturday.
