Jamaica’s Men 4×100 team in doubt after injury

Jamaica’s athletes having gone through their final preparations, are now awaiting the start of the 2015 IAAF World Championships which gets underway later this evening Jamaica time in Beijing China.

The team is however facing some challenges, with the news that Nesta Carter, has been ruled out of the championships.

The Moscow World Championship bronze medallist, who won gold as part of Jamaica’s sprint relay team at the 2012 Olympics in London, looks set for another shot at an individual medal, when he was drafted into the 100m, after Bailey Cole suffered a hamstring injury at the Jamaica team’s training camp in Japan.

The IAAF , has however rejected the substitution, leaving Jamaica with only three competitors in the event, Usain Bolt the wild card, Asafa Powell and Nickel Ashmeade.

JAAA’s General Secretary Garth Gayle, says he is fighting to have the rejection reversed.
