JUTC Offers Cash Reward To Catch Persons Stoning Its Buses

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has partnered with Crime Stop to offer a $100,000 reward to anyone who can assist in bringing to justice those persons who have been stoning the company’s buses.

Managing Director Paul Abrahams made the announcement at a media briefing on Tuesday morning at the JUTC’s corporate offices in St. Catherine. Along with the rewards offered, the JUTC will increase its public education campaigns in schools, as well as engage Members of Parliament in the areas where the stone throwing incidents have been highest.

Additionally, the JUTC said it will be hiring persons to become mystery riders on the buses to aid in reducing the stone-throwing incidents.

The measures come as part of efforts to reduce the incidents.
