Lendl Simmons to replace Fletcher in crucial ICC World T20 semi-final showdown

Trinidadian batsman Lendl Simmons is off to India where he is set to join the West Indies for their crucial ICC World T20 semi-final showdown against the tournament hosts in Mumbai.

Simmons is expected to replace Grenadian batsman Andre Fletcher who injured his hamstring in Sunday’s demoralizing six-run loss to minnows Afghanistan in their last game in the Super 10 phase.

The 31 year old was initially named in the West Indies World Cup squad but pulled out due to a back injury.

He was already scheduled to fly to India for the 2016 Indian Premier League season which bowls off from April 9-May 29.
