Nurse Shot By Man Outside St Ann’s Bay Supermarket Dies

A St Ann nurse who was shot by a man outside a supermarket in the parish capital of St Ann’s Bay on Friday (Oct 27) has died.

Ophelia Walloston, a registered nurse from Lime Hall, St Ann, was shot at about 6:30 pm Friday evening as she shopped at a busy supermarket in St Ann ‘s Bay.

Reports are that Walloston had gone to the St Ann’s Bay Police Station earlier to file a report and then left for the supermarket. While at the supermarket, she had an altercation with a man who opened fire at her. The police did not confirm if the man who shot Walloston was the person she had filed a complaint against. However, speculations are that she had filed a report against him.

The attacker reportedly handed himself over to the police following the shooting on Friday.
