The couple — who filmed their special day for their 10-part reality series, Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir: The Mane Event — sliced into their muti-layered cake using a sword with a blinged-out handle (naturally).
It was a massive feat considering the cake, which was over 10 feet tall, towered over 6’2” Mane and his petite wife. “Cake double my size,” Mane wrote in the caption to a photo of the dessert on Instagram.
Complete with white, delicate roses as the frosting, the cake was made up of four double-tiered layers with crystals dangling from each section so that it resembled a dramatic chandelier – perfect for the “diamonds and crystals” theme of their nuptials.
@Regrann from @missmewitit_ – 😱Whoa! That gorgeous 10ft wedding cake from the #ManeEvent cost $75K, and on the inside were varieties of many different cakes including red velvet, carrot, banana and Jamaican Rum cakes….and of course, #BET covered the bill on that too☝🏾😆 #TeaTENDERS ・・・ Gucci Mane & Keyshia Ka'oir did more than get married … they sliced into a work of art 🎂 💍 they paid 75 bands for that cake @quarterhouse1 #guccimane #keyshiakaoir #TheWopsters #TheManeEvent #wedding – #regrann
The work of art came from baker Edda Martinez and her South Florida’s custom cake company Edda’s Cake Designs, a spokesman of whom told TMZ the $75,000 confection required 3 months of planning, 3 days of baking, 8,000 handmade sugar flowers and 2,500 Swarovski crystals. Flavors included red velvet, amaretto, carrot, banana nuts, and Jamaican rum cake
As for the sword, well that was a gift from Edda’s, TMZ reported.
“Over 10 feet of beauty!,” the company wrote on Instagram. “A spectacular cake for a star studded wedding! So excited we could be a part of The Mane Event!! Congratulations @laflare1017 & @keyshiakaoir on your gorgeous wedding!”
