SAD: Six Year Old Dies After Being Hit By Car In St Ann

A six year-old boy was killed on Monday after being hit by a vehicle in Yalland in Brown’s Town, St. Ann.

The deceased has been identified as Oniel Williams of Brown’s Town in the parish. He was a student of the Gibraltar All Age School, was mowed down by a car on the Yalland main road about 5 p.m.

According to reports, the incident occurred as Oneil exited a taxi and was attempting to cross the road.

After being hit, he was dragged by the car which crashed into an embankment.

Early Tuesday morning, residents blocked the main road with tree limbs, huge rocks and other debris, bringing traffic to a standstill and leaving students and other commuters stranded.

Tashema Brown, Oneil’s aunt, said the residents are angry because of the reckless driving by motorists along the main road.

The police say the driver of the motorcar is now in their custody for allegedly causing Oniel’s death from the crash and will be questioned.
