UPDATE: ‘Jamaica Observer Cashier’ Killed In Meadowbrook Estate Gun Attack

[Sharingbuttons]A cashier employed to the Jamaica Observer, Toni-Ann Murray was among two people shot dead by gunmen in Meadowbrook Estate, St Andrew, Saturday night.

The other victim of the gun attack has been identified by the police as George Phillips, 21, a resident of Ridgeway Road in Meadowbrook.

According to reports by the Observer, Murray, 31, started working with the company early this year as a cashier in the Finance Department.

Reports from the Duhaney Park Police are that about 8:27 p.m., Murray was sitting in a motorcar on the compound of the community centre while Phillips was sitting on a makeshift stool in front of the community centre when two men armed with guns approached and opened gunfire, hitting both persons before escaping in a waiting motor vehicle.

Unconfirmed reports are that Murray was making enquiries about the shooting death of her brother last month by gunmen when she came under attack shortly after.

It was not clear if her demise was in any way linked to the murder of her brother.
