Vybz Kartel’s ‘Fever’ Climbs Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Charts

Incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel continues to see mainstream success with his mega hit single “Fever” featured on his last album King of the Dancehall that was released in 2016.

‘Fever,’which collectively has over 50 million streams on YouTube has climbed to number 36 on the coveted Billboard R & B/Hip Hop Airplay chart.

According to Vybz Kartel’s business partner Michael Dawson, the incarcerated deejay is in high demand in the US.

He also credits people like Drake and Justin Bieber for having brought back dancehall into the mainstream and says that Vybz Kartel is the best dancehall has right now.

An important thing to note is the fact that this is not Kartel’s first time on the Billboard chart. He has had Billboard success with songs like Clarks, Romping Shop and Notnice.

Fever is the only dancehall record on the chart and is competing with songs from artistes including DJ Khaled, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, and 2 Chainz.
