Yardhype features Sanity… Charismatic, confident and lyrical

Charismatic, confident and lyrical are only three words to describe the unique sound of Steven ‘Sanity’ Dickens. Known by his friends and fans as Sanity Dsane1, Sanity has been making moves in the music industry. He grew up in Vineyard Town, Kingston, Jamaica but started doing music officially in 2008.

Influenced by reggae legends, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Garnette Silk, Ron Isley, and dancehall legends Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and Shabba Ranks to name a few, Sanity has grown a sincere love for both the reggae and dancehall genres. Additionally his step father was a deejay by profession in the early 80s and 90s exposing Sanity at an early age to old school dancehall music and several major stage shows.

He has since released singles such as ‘Judge Not’ on the ‘Reinvention Riddim’ produced by Chin Sue of TuffChin Records in January 2012; ‘Buss The Gate’ on the ‘New Day Riddim’ as produced by Tu Finga of Deadline Records in February 2014; ‘House Party’ on the ‘Top Class Riddim’ produced by UIM Records in June 2014; ‘Pocket Fat’ on the Release Riddim produced by Tu Finga of Deadline Records in October 2014; ‘She Find Out’ on the Hang Over Riddim produced by Tu Finga of Deadline Records in February 2015; and ‘Nuh Trust People’ on the Bad Indian Riddim produced by Diniero of UIM Records in March 2015.

His singles all had their individual successes, in particular ‘House Party’ which garnered much media attention. The video for the single was shot by award winning directors RD Studios from Kingston, Jamaica. Sanity has since made several television and radio appearances and started his promotional street tours. He has also received support from several disc jockeys in Jamaica, Kenya, Trinidad, North America and Germany.

Sanity is still pursuing music and is set to release new singles by top producers. He wants to be remembered in music as being ‘versatile’ and ‘lyrical’.
